Cappadocia

The rock formations of Cappadocia not only entice with their surreal landscapes, but also astonish with a pragmatic architecture of frescoed churches and interconnected cave dwellings. Wandering through the Dervent and Red Valleys provides constantly changing kaleidoscopes of shadows and forms, while the sculpted rock faces of Pasabagi, Uchisar and Zelve hint at their vanished communities of resident troglodytes. And still in the region is a vestige of an even earlier time with the Saruhan Caravanserai which welcomed Silk Road travelers.
